I have been working with nonprofits to build their online spaces for over 20 years.
Early in my career I was fortunate to land in a place where my work life would instill a deep interest in community service. Inspired by a client's volunteer conservation work and a personal interest in outdoor recreation, I joined the board of my local land trust. For a budding web designer and self-starter, the opportunities this created were amazing. I went from doing projects for others in my professional life to managing projects as a volunteer. This led to a lot of personal growth, but more importantly, an appreciation for the community where I live.
Community service eventually led to running for Maine House of Representatives in 2014. I was elected and will serve through 2022 before terming-out after four consecutive terms. When serving in public office, one gets to watch the nonprofit community truly shine. Everyday I witness these vital organizations bring people together, advocate for important causes, and bring about positive change for the people I serve. I've used the opportunity to do everything from championing conservation dollars, to ensuring Maine's heritage, to protecting the vulnerable. It's been a truly rewarding experience.
Currently, I serve as the board president for a community-based nonprofit that provides emergency fuel assistance for people who fall through the cracks and have no where else to turn. The pandemic has brought money challenges, but we've found new ways to diversify our fundraising activities which will make us a stronger organization in the long-run. I'm thankful for having been given this leadership role and the responsibilities it entails.
These experiences have given me a lot of insight into the challenges nonprofits face and the important roles they play in our communities. Moreover, how to build Websites that advance their missions. I would love to work with and learn from your nonprofit.

Whether you are building a new website or looking to revamp an old one, I'd like to be a part of that process. Provide me with some details and a good time to reach out to begin that conversation.
